Product details
Description for all Husqvarna Opal sewing machines. For the use of invisible zippers. An invisible zipper is always placed before sewing the seam. The invisible zipper foot has two slots at the bottom to secure the zipper teeth while sewing. Purchase a zipper that is at least 3 cm longer than the zipper opening.
Further information:
1. Mark the length of the zipper opening on the seam allowance and on the zipper. The excess length should be at the bottom end of the zipper.
2. Open the zipper.
3. Place the right side of the zipper together with the right sides on the fabric. The zipper teeth should be 2 cm below the fabric edge at the seam line and at the top stop of the zipper.
4. Hold the zipper with your fingers and lower the presser foot with the zipper teeth in the right slot of the foot.
5. Place the left side of the zipper together with the right sides on the left side of the garment. Lower the presser foot with the zipper teeth in the left slot. Ensure that the needle is perfectly aligned with the needle guide on the foot again. Sew in the same way as on the right side.
6. Pull the zipper up. Place the fabric with the right sides together. Position the regular zipper foot to the left of the needle. Change the needle position to the right. Sew under the zipper. If the zipper is too long, hand sew the zipper teeth 3 cm below the marking. Cut off the excess zipper below the hand-sewn stitch.
