Anki specializes in bringing robotics technology into everyday life, building on decades of scientific study to make Artificial Intelligence accessible to everyone. Founded in 2010 by graduates of the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute, Anki uses novel technologies previously used primarily in research to create new kinds of gaming experiences.

Anki Drive, the company's first product, was named one of Time Magazine's Top 25 Inventions in 2013 and was featured at Apple's WWDC developer conference that same year. In February 2015, Fast Company magazine named Anki one of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world and even first in the top ten in robotics. Anki Overdrive, the intelligent racing game, and Cozmo, Anki's small and bright robot with its own character, each received the Tommi Award in the "Electronic Toy" category. Anki Overdrive was named "Top 10" by the German Association of Toy Retailers (BVS). (BVS) as the "Top 10 Toys 2015" and Cozmo by the Bundesverband Technik des Einzelhandels e.V. (BVT) as "Top 10 Technology 2017".
