Since its foundation as a bright steel drawing mill in Stuttgart in 1889, the company, which is now based in Bietigheim-Bissingen, has continuously expanded its range of products and services. In the mid-1930s, for example, BESSEY began producing manual clamping tools and since then has underlined its innovative strength with numerous patents. With the takeover of the traditional Diener Werkzeugfabrik GmbH in 1979, BESSEY established the cutting technology sector with the Erdi sheet metal shears brand, which is well-known in the market.
