Senseo

Senseo was created in 2001 following a cooperation of electronics manufacturer Philips and Dutch coffee roaster Jacobs Douwe Egberts. They developed the first portioned coffee system with coffee pods. The coffee comes in pre-portioned containers, so-called coffee pods, and is placed into the machine. One pod contains 7 g of coffee powder – the amount generally recommended for one cup of coffee. The Senseo coffee pod machine uses a patented brewing system and a designated frothing chamber that creates a crema similar to that of espresso.
