In 1819, the Meyer-Lüters company was mentioned for the first time in the commercial register as a straw-processing company based in Twistringen. The first products of the company were straw hats.

In the second generation, the product range was expanded to include bags, foot mats and insoles made of straw. In the middle of the last century the company wrote fashion history. The straw hats from Twistringen were awarded prizes in Paris and Vienna. In the third generation the export business to America was built up. Products such as straw mats and straw docks for insulation in house building were sought-after products.

Losses in sales during the First World War were the beginning of a new orientation. Heinrich Meyer, the fourth generation to run the company, began producing straw casings for beer and wine bottles, straw drinking straws and straw mats for meyer-lueters nursery supplies. In 1936 the term "yard goods" for straw mats in road construction appeared for the first time.

At the beginning of the 60's the first plastic meter goods were included in the offer of the company VIDEX Meyer-Lüters GmbH & Co KG. The new material was in demand as a privacy mat and balcony cladding for the garden and leisure industry which was just starting to develop. At the end of the 60s, the development of this industry pointed the way to the establishment of a high-performance metal production facility.

Today, the company VIDEX Meyer-Lüters GmbH & Co KG has modern process and production technologies in metal and plastics processing at its disposal. Production takes place at home and abroad. The offer includes a wide range of garden and leisure articles.

With the new winter protection range, Videx offers an optimal solution for the protection of plants and is at the same time extremely decorative. Garden furniture, such as sun loungers and garden benches, can also be protected from rain, dirt and other weather influences with the cover hoods.
