Birkenstocks: chic comfort for your feet

I love my Birkenstocks. Not just on hot summer days, but all year round. Are you a fan too or want to become one? I'll show you the hottest styles here.
Once frowned upon with the words "only ecos wear that", today they are an absolute fashion favourite and totally on trend: Birkenstock. I've been wearing them myself for years. At the beginning of the summer, I went to a local retailer to get some advice. What surprised me: There were only young people in the shop. A health shoe or just for seniors? That was once upon a time! My colleague Anika Schulz had a similar story to tell. My experience comes from Stuttgart, hers from Hamburg. So it's not a regional phenomenon. Even big stars like Jessica Alba or Heidi Klum wear them in public, for example during a shopping trip.

But I also see them everywhere on hot summer days, and not just on me. No wonder: they don't just look stylish. They are also super comfortable and pleasant to wear thanks to the cork footbed and high-quality leather. What's more, Birkenstock sandals are very airy and go with almost any outfit. That's why I've put together a small overview of which models are currently so popular.
The classic: Arizona
The Arizona model was introduced back in 1973 and is still quite simply a classic and an absolute bestseller in our shop. With its wide double straps and large adjustable buckles, the shoe adapts perfectly to the foot. It is perfect for longer walks. The design is timeless in my eyes and always impresses.
The fashionable mule: Madrid
The Madrid is the one-timer among Birkenstock sandals. It is just as impressive with its anatomically moulded cork footbed and soft leather. With just one strap and the size-adjustable buckle, it has an even simpler look. If you like that, you should go for it.
The toe separator: Gizeh
The Gizeh is the counterpart to the classic flip-flops. Like all Birkenstocks, the toe separator sandal offers a comfortable footbed. The simple yet robust toe buckle has its own special cool charm. However, I have to say that it's not quite my style. I just don't like anything between my toes. However, the minimalist design makes the shoe versatile and fashionable.
The slipper look: Boston
Do you not like it quite so airy? The Boston has the perfect slipper look. They are closed at the front, which is super comfortable. Available in different colours, they can be perfectly combined with your style. And you can also wear them in the cooler autumn months.
The young, hip two-rider: Siena
Unlike the classic Arizona two-strap shoe, the straps of the Sienas are crossed over. This also gives them a modern and chic look. Suitable for all fashion-conscious people who want to look a little hipper without sacrificing comfort.
Firm but airy: Tulum
The further development of the Sienas? Even more ornate, with another strap around the heel: the Tulum sandals. They are nevertheless very airy and, above all, sit firmly on the foot. With wide, crossed leather straps and a fastening at the heel, they stand out from the other designs. The fastening can be adjusted as required. However, the design makes it difficult to slip into the shoe. For me, the Tulums look a little too ornate, but they do look good in terms of fashion.
The sustainable option: vegan
No shoe design, but an alternative: do you want to do without real leather in your shoes? But you still love your Birkenstocks, then the vegan version is just right for you. Synthetic Birko-Flor nubuck was used as the material. According to the manufacturer, it is not only soft but also skin-friendly. The footbed is made from tried and tested cork-latex.
The big buckle: Big Buckle
Many of the Birkenstock models are also available in the big buckle version. The buckle, which until now has usually only served as a practical detail, takes centre stage. With big buckle shoes, the inconspicuous buckle is replaced by a large pin buckle. This makes the shoe look more modern and younger.
