Everything in view with the Ricoh Theta SC
The new 360-degree camera in the Ricoh Theta range is called the Theta SC and is the little sister of the Theta S, which was launched in September 2015. As with the Theta S, you can use the Theta SC to easily create all-round photos (so-called full-sphere images) or 360-degree films and also view, edit and share them in an all-round view.
The whole thing only requires a single press of a button, as the Theta is equipped with two lenses and creates 360-degree views on command. With the accompanying apps "Theta+" and "Theta+Video", subsequent editing is made easy. The handy camera has almost the same specs as its big sister Theta S: 12MPixel (vs. 14MPixel on the Theta S), full HD video at 15fps, 8GB memory, the same battery life and the same sensor. According to Ricoh, the SC is 20% lighter and can only record 5-minute videos. The Theta S, in contrast, can record a full 25 minutes of video, but if we're being honest, it rarely takes 25 minutes for a 360-degree view.
