Now with ANC: Google shows the Pixel Buds Pro
At its latest developer conference, Google is not only showing off software - in addition to smartphones, a Watch and a tablet, the tech company is unveiling its latest in-ear headphones.
Considering that it was actually a developer conference, quite a lot of hardware was presented at Google I/O. Among them was the new generation of Google's headphones: the Pixel Buds Pro. They are Google's first headphones equipped with active noise cancellation - or ANC. This is supposed to work particularly well because the Buds contain an in-house audio processor with six cores. A neural engine takes care of neutralizing external noise.
In addition to ANC, the Pixel Buds Pro also offer a transparency mode that allows the user to perceive the surroundings while wearing the headphones. When making phone calls, the noise cancellation algorithm is also supposed to ensure that the voice can be heard clearly even in noisier environments.
Google promises that a spatial audio option for the headphones is also coming later this year. However, the tech giant did not give an exact date yet. Google Assistant will be available at the beginning. Users will be able to give commands or receive information via voice control through the Pixel Buds Pro.
Battery life and appearance
Without active noise cancelling, the headphones should run for around eleven hours. If ANC is activated, it is enough for seven. When you switch from smartphone to computer, the headphones follow automatically thanks to multi-point connectivity.
The round Pixel Buds Pro come in a two-tone design. The part for the inside of the ear is black in each case. There are four color options for the area visible from the outside: Coral, Lemongrass, Fog and Charcoal.
Available in summer
In the U.S., the Pixel Buds Pro will be available this summer. Pre-orders start on July 21 - and official sales on July 28. The European sales launch should also take place around this date. The plugs are already displayed in the German Google Store - the retail price for Germany is 219 Euros. When the Pixel Buds Pro will be available in the Digitec store is currently still unclear

The more eclectic the mix, the better.
