Pia’s Picks – unique doors turn cabinets into designer pieces

Anyone who thinks a cabinet is simply for storage hasn’t considered these designer pieces. They’re both practical and tasteful.

I’m really cabinets with patterned doors or drawer fronts at the moment. They pose like works of art and are a perfect focus point.

Works of art are created to convey an idea, a feeling or a message. In my opinion, decorative cabinet fronts are designed to turn storage furniture into eye-catching objects that enhance the interior. Whether it’s a chest of drawers, closet, bookcase or kitchen cabinet – a well-chosen pattern will add that certain something.

Textures, grooves or other decorations on doors help to make a room appear more inviting. When chosen with intent, they emphasise a furnishing style and even influence your perception. A patterned model, for example, can make a room appear larger or scratches on the surface of the wardrobe smaller.

I’ve found chests of drawers and TV furniture in our range in many different styles and that are more than just a functional storage solution. There are lacquered, veneered doors in light and dark shades, with patterns, decorations or reliefs. I like models with round elements the most because they break up the rigid lines of the rectangular storage space. Take a look.

In my Pia’s Picks series, I regularly showcase my favourite finds – things I might not need, but definitely want.
