Review: What Dyson's new Airwrap attachments can do

Dyson's new Airwrap attachments are here. I have tested the adaptations and now know which attachments are a good addition to your existing set and which you can safely do without.

My Airwrap is sacred to me. After almost four years of continuous use, I can say with a clear conscience that the Dyson multistyler is one of the best beauty investments I have made to date - despite the potential for improvement. Dyson has probably realised this and has updated some of the attachments. I already reported on what exactly has changed a few months ago:

Now I want to find out what the new features are worth. Dyson has therefore provided me with an Airwrap Complete Long for a test:

The set includes:

  • Handpiece (no innovation)
  • Coanda drying attachment
  • one long curling attachment each with 30mm and 40mm diameter
  • one soft and one firm straightening brush
  • round volume brush (no innovation)

Curling attachments

In my old Airwrap set, two curling attachments were needed per diameter. One to turn the strand of hair to the left and one to turn it to the right. Therefore, I used to style the right half of my mane clockwise and change the attachment for the other half.

Now, one attachment with a regulator is enough. When I turn it, the airflow is directed in the other direction. This not only saves space in the box, but is especially practical when I want to change the direction of each half of the head. This gives me more volume and a more natural result. In addition, the curls come out cleaner, so they are not accompanied by flying hairs at the roots or in the lengths.

Conclusion

Nothing disappointed me in this test. Nevertheless, I think that not all attachments are equally necessary. For all those who, like me, already own an Airwrap and are thinking of buying some of the new additions, here are my recommendations:

The new curl attachments are really practical, but in my eyes they're not a must-have, because I'm more than happy with the old ones too. That's why I would save the money at this point.

As a massive Disney fan, I see the world through rose-tinted glasses. I worship series from the 90s and consider mermaids a religion. When I’m not dancing in glitter rain, I’m either hanging out at pyjama parties or sitting at my make-up table. P.S. I love you, bacon, garlic and onions.
