Ass Savers Win Wing 2 Gravel, black dots
Rear mudguard
What’s one of the most uncomfortable things when cycling? A wet backside. The small Win Wing 2 mudguard by Ass Savers makes sure you stay dry.
Be open to new ideas and regularly question your opinions – that’s something I try to do and often fail at. The latest example: mudguards. I’ve always said I’d never attach a mudguard to my gravel bike. Unsurprisingly, I often looked like this when I came back from a bike tour:
Am I really just too stubborn to make sure my backside stays dry? Well, yes. But that changed recently, when I stumbled upon the brand Ass Savers. Of course, that name caught my attention immediately. When I saw the Win Wing 2 mudguard doesn’t cost much at all, I just went for it. I guess that’s what you’d call a spontaneous blind buy.
How to mount the Win Wing 2 mudguard? It’s super simple – you attach the two brackets to the seat stay and clip on the mudguard. That’s it. What’s clever is that it comes with two transparent stickers that protect the paint on the frame.
The Win Wing 2 can be mounted in three positions with different angles – 0°, minus 10° and plus 10°, according to Ass Savers. I chose 0° for my first tour and minus 10° for my second. Why? I don’t like it when the mudguard sticks out at a strange angle.
It’s often the little things in life that make it enjoyable. A mudguard for just over 20 francs, for instance. Especially one that’s installed in no time and works a treat. I’m not leaving the house on a wet day without the Win Wings 2 by Ass Savers. That says it all. This is a clever, simple product and I totally recommend it.
