Toolcraft solder fume extractor fan: perfect for soldering – and for hot days

Enjoy soldering but don’t enjoy sweating? Then the Toolcraft solder fume extractor fan might be just the thing for you. It affords you protection while you’re soldering, and keeps you cool on sweltering days.
I adore soldering. It doesn’t matter if it’s a keyboard, or cables for a craft project with my son. What I’m less keen on are the toxic fumes it produces. Thanks to Toolcraft’s solder fume extraction system, I won’t need to worry about them as much in the future. If I’m not assembling a keyboard, but am sweating away in 30-degree heat in my attic workspace, I simply remove the activated carbon filter and use the device as a fan.

That pretty much explains the Toolcraft fume extractor fan. The gadget also has an on/off switch and continuous speed control. If I want to solder, I point the side with the activated carbon filter towards my soldering iron and set the extractor to the level I want. If I want to stop sweating, I pull the activated carbon filter out of its slot and point the fan in my direction.

Set up like this, it stays nice and quiet, at a maximum volume of 45 decibels (measured from a distance of 30 centimetres). That’s basically like being in a quiet apartment (linked site in German).
Thanks to the metal stand, I can set up the extractor exactly as I please or even hang it from a pole or bar.

I solder, therefore I am. And thanks to the Toolcraft fume extractor, that hopefully won’t be changing for a long time to come.
