The Alpenföhn Brocken 3 combines the best features from two generations of "Brocken": a brushed and anodized top fin, a large surface cooler with a fin spacing designed for silent operation, and aerodynamically optimized fins. The included 140mm PWM fan from the Wing-Boost-3 series is responsible for the necessary airflow. Thanks to a permanently integrated guide wheel for axial flow direction, not only has the fan noise been improved, but also a minimization of airflow swirl at the heatsink has been achieved. The result is an enormous performance capability of the fan, allowing for a significant reduction in maximum speed compared to alternative layouts.

Five high-performance heat pipes quickly and efficiently transport the processor's waste heat to the large surface cooler. The gapless H.D.T. technology creates a uniform contact surface from the heat pipes, enabling direct transfer of the CPU's waste heat to the cooler. The asymmetrical design of the heatsink allows for nearly 100% compatibility with all RAM modules, regardless of how tall the heat spreader of the memory is.

Due to a special angle of the fan blades, the rotor has been optimized for low speed, achieving a significantly higher volume flow, total pressure, and exit speed at the same RPM compared to other fans. Additionally, the aerodynamically optimized blade geometry favors axial flow direction. Compared to conventional fans, this "fanning out" of the airflow provides more surface area to efficiently dissipate the waste heat from the heatsink. Furthermore, the blade geometry prevents backflow of the actual flow direction, especially under higher back pressure. The RockMount2 offers improved user-friendliness for the installation of the cooler.
