Der Einstiegspreis des neuen Amazon Kindle Oasis liegt mit 230 Euro immerhin 60 Euro unter dem des Vorgängers. Das ist immer noch viel Geld, wenn man bedenkt, dass es auch dafür bereits brauchbare und vielseitigere Tablet-PCs gibt. Wenn Sie aber intensiv Bücher oder Zeitschriften in digitaler Form konsumieren, lohnt sich die Anschaffung eines Geräts speziell zum Lesen...

Neben den Konkurrenten von Kobo und Tolino ist nun auch Amazons neuer E-Book-Reader Kindle Oasis badewannentauglich. Der Akku des 3,4 mm dünnen Geräts (ca. 230 Euro) soll sechs Wochen halten, das 7-Zoll-Display ist mit einer Pixeldichte von 300 ppi recht scharf. Zudem kann das Oasis auf die Hörbuchbibliothek Audible zugreifen. Urteil: Toller Geschenktipp.

Der Oasis ist ohne Frage Amazons schönster Reader, trotzdem muss sich der Versandhändler die Frage stellen lassen, wo man mit dem Gerät eigentlich hin möchte. 290 beziehungsweise 350 Euro (für die 3G-Variante) sind ein sehr stolzer Preis für eine im Abwärtstrend befindliche Gerätekategorie...

Der Oasis ist schicker, nützlicher und handlicher als der Kindle 2016. All das täuscht aber nicht über eines hinweg: Für knapp 70 Euro bietet auch der einfache Kindle alles, was man zum Lesen braucht, eine ausgezeichnete Software und ein gutes E-Book-Ökosystem.
