Der Asus DSL-AC87VG zeichnet sich durch eine gute und schnelle Datenübertragung aus, zumal er auch bei der Vielseitigkeit und den Zusatzfunktionen einen guten Eindruck hinterlässt. Leider hat Asus das Thema Sicherheit etwas vernachlässigt und zeigt sich hier nur mäßig, beim Telefonieren fällt das Urteil bei den Filteroptionen schlecht aus...

Der Asus DSL-AC87VG ist eine empfehlenswerte Alternative zur Fritzbox 7580: Sein WLAN-Tempo ist sehr hoch - sobald die Firmware MU-MIMO unterstützt, kann er bei passenden Clients noch mehr herausholen. Die Ausstattung ist üppig, das Menü bietet viele Funktionen. Und nicht zuletzt liegt der Straßenpreis des Asus-Modem-Routers fast 100 Euro unter dem der Fritzbox 7580.

Von der Hardware-Ausstattung her hat der DSL-AC87VG das Zeug, eine Fritzbox zu ersetzen, wenn man keine ISDN-Geräte anschließen muss. Doch an der WLAN-Kompatibilität und an der Firmware muss Asus noch etwas arbeiten.
