Bei Prozessor und Arbeitsspeicher hat Buffalo gespart, das drückt aufs Tempo. Die Daten fließen bei der Terastation etwa ein Drittel langsamer als bei der Konkurrenz. Ärgerlich sind der hohe Stand-by-Verbrauch (5 Watt) und die fehlende Verschlüsselung der gespeicherten Daten. Die Ausstattung ist extrem mager - es gibt nur eine extra USB-2.0-Buchse.
