Das Canon EF 24-105 mm 1:3,5-5,6 IS STM sitzt in einem hochwertigen Gehäuse aus Kunststoff, für den gewöhnlichen Alltag eines Fotografen ist es ausreichend stabil gebaut. Die Leistung bewegt sich insgesamt noch auf einem sehr guten Niveau, auch wenn der Randabfall bei offener Blende erkennbar ist...
Dieses für Vollformat gerechnete 5-fach-Zoom muss sich vor allem in der Weitwinkelstallung Schwächen bei Kontrast und Auflösung nachsagen lassen. Durch Abblenden lässt sich das Ergebnis aber deutlich verbessern. Bei den längeren Brennweiten steigt die Abbildungsleistung des Canon EF 3,5-5,6/24-105 mm IS STM, kann aber trotzdem nicht voll überzeugen...
Das Canon Modell ist sehr gut und exakt verarbeitet, sodass es auch sehr leichtgängig ist. Die Bedienung wird somit zum Kinderspiel und große Patzer muss man hier nicht erwarten. Allerdings ist die Randabdunklung deutlich, wobei die Auflösung erfreulicherweise unabhängig von der Brennweite ausfällt...
Nach über 15 Jahren hat Canon mit dem Canon EF 24-105 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM eine Ablösung für das betagte EF 28–135 mm f/3.5–5.6 IS USM im Angebot. Wenn das Design auch eher an "billige" Kit-Objektive für APS-C-Kameras erinnern mag, so stellt man doch ein solides Stück Technik ohne echte Schnitzer bereit...
