Product details

The lightweight IS telephoto zoom lens for professional photographers. Canon's first interchangeable lens with a four-stop image stabilizer is not only characterized by its compact and lightweight design but also impresses with its professional quality, which guarantees outstanding optical performance and high user comfort.

The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM is Canon's first interchangeable lens with a four-stop image stabilizer. Thanks to the exceptionally precise and highly sensitive image stabilizer, it is often possible to forgo the use of a tripod, making the lens ideal for handheld shooting. Without noticeable degradation in image sharpness, shutter speeds can now be selected up to four times slower than before (for example, 1/15 second instead of 1/200 second).

IS Mode 2 is designed for image stabilization when the lens is panning with the subject. For instance, when tracking a moving object with a horizontal pan, IS Mode 2 only corrects unwanted vertical shake.

With a length of only about 172 mm and a weight of just around 760 g, the EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM is an ideal companion for travel and expeditions, without compromising on high performance, optimal user comfort, and excellent image quality.

With a constant aperture throughout the entire focal length range, photographers can set exposure with a wide-open aperture across the entire zoom range up to 200 mm without reducing shutter speed. The lens length remains constant even when zooming and focusing.
