Canon's EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM is an EF-S-Mount Prime that combines a comfortable short telephoto focal length with optimised close-ups and is designed for DSLRs in APS-C format. As a true macro lens, this lens offers a life-size maximum magnification of 1:1 at a minimum focusing distance of 7.9", and its 96mm equivalent focal length makes it ideal for portraits as well. The optical design provides a high level of sharpness and resolution across the entire image and individual elements have been coated with Super Spectra to minimise stray light and ghosting to ensure greater contrast and colour accuracy when working in high light conditions. The lens also uses an ultrasonic motor together with an internal focusing design to provide fast, quiet and precise autofocus performance and full-time manual focusing.
