Die Canon PowerShot SX500 IS überzeugt mit dem großen, gut bedienbaren Bedienelementen und auch die manuellen Einstellmöglichkeiten ermöglichen das perfekte Foto. Leider ist sie sehr Rauschanfällig und auch das Arbeitstempo ist sehr lahm. Der 30-fach-Zoom fällt im Test sehr possitiv auf.

Die Canon ist eine alltagstaugliche Kamera, die insgesamt gelungen ist und gute Aufnahmen erzeugt. Zwar rauscht sie im hohen ISO Bereich aber dafür ist sie kompakt gehalten und besitzt einen enormen Zoomfaktor. Einsteiger und Fortgeschrittene sollten mit der Kamera gut zurechtkommen.

Das Highlight ist sicherlich der enorme Zoomfaktor, wobei die Aufnahmen noch in einem guten Wert rangieren. Zudem sind manuelle Einstellungen möglich, wobei die Handhabung insgesamt gut ist. Weniger gelungen sind die Videoqualität sowie der eher durchschnittliche Monitor.

Die Kamera von Canon bietet eine umfangreiche Ausstattung und eine sehr gute Farbdarstellung. Zudem liefert die SX500 gute Aufnahmen, obwohl in den Bildecken leichte Einschränkungen sind.
Die kompakten Maß und das geringe geringe Gewicht der Canon machen sie zu einem extrem guten Reisebegleiter, das aber auf der anderen Seite einige Schwächen mit sich bringt. So ist die Ausstattung nicht ganz so üppig wie bei der Konkurrenz und auch Full HD Videos filmt die Kamera nicht.
