The Cloudlifter can be used with all passive microphones, including ribbon microphones. The CL-1 enhances the performance of passive microphone signals by providing a stronger and cleaner signal for your mixer or interface. It delivers a gain boost of up to +25dB in two stages. The natural sound of your microphone is not altered and remains completely intact. However, the sound image becomes more detailed, allowing your microphone to be spoken into from a greater distance. Phantom power is required for operation, which powers the device. To connect, the Cloudlifter is simply placed between the microphone and the interface/mixer using an XLR cable. The metal housing makes this helpful little box extremely robust.
