DJI Mavic 2 Pro

For bright environments such as snowy landscapes in the sun, the aperture can be closed except for f/11. Standard for cameras, but exceptional for drone cameras. The adjustable aperture allows longer exposure times for videos in bright environments and thus smoother movements. The 35mm focal length is 28 millimetres. For professional videos 10 bit D-Log is available. When connected to a 4K TV with HLG, the drone can play the 10-bit material directly in the correct color scheme.

Motif tracking improved

ActiveTrack 2.0 is the name of DJI's improved scene tracking system. It includes not only the main camera, but also the two visual sensors for the calculation and is therefore able to create a 3D model, while the predecessor only knew two dimensions. A trajectory prediction helps to keep the Mavic on the trajectory, even if the view of the subject is temporarily obscured.

The drone: faster, better, quieter, more

The drone flies longer, faster and quieter than the Mavic Pro. Thanks to improvements in aerodynamics, the battery is now expected to last up to 31 minutes. However, this value is only reached when there is no wind. The drone can reach a speed of 70 km/h. The live image of 1080p is transmitted over a distance of up to 8 kilometres.

Visual sensors to avoid collisions are located not only at the front and rear, but also at the bottom and on the side. According to DJI, the assistance system for pilots, which detects obstacles at an early stage, has also been improved. The LED lamp, which shines downwards, is also helpful in the dark. And another very useful help when flying: a flight information system should automatically keep the drone away from prohibited zones such as airports.
