With the 12-month TV module from freenet TV, customers can receive up to 20 top programs from private broadcasters in HD quality, in addition to the programs of public broadcasters via DVB-T2 and satellite on Astra 19.2 East. Customers who have opted for the TV module from freenet TV can flexibly change the reception path themselves at any time via the freenet TV customer account. The prerequisite for receiving freenet TV with a TV module is an HD-capable receiver or television with a free CI+ slot. Additionally, it is important that the receiver is equipped with an appropriate tuner for DVB-S for satellite reception or DVB-T2 for reception via antenna. Support for the reception format can be recognized by the blue DVB-S and/or the green DVB-T2 logo. The installation of the TV module is very simple; it only needs to be inserted into a free CI+ slot, and the programs from freenet TV are decrypted.

Customers of freenet TV do not need an additional smart card to decrypt freenet TV, as the decryption is already integrated into the hardware of freenet TV or the certified manufacturers. Reception of freenet TV programs is limited to Germany.
