Long battery life
Get up to 10 days in smartwatch mode or up to 20 hours in GPS mode.
Built-in LED torch
Variable light intensities and a red safety light keep you more alert when exercising in the dark and can provide comfortable illumination when needed. The strobe mode can even adjust your running frequency.
Hill points
This function measures your ability to run uphill and assesses your progress over time based on your VO2max and training history. It measures your running power on steep climbs and your running endurance on long climbs and provides a score based on your performance over time.
Endurance points
This function measures your ability to sustain prolonged efforts and combines training data from all your sporting activities to help you understand how training affects your overall endurance. This dynamic measurement uses your VO2max, short/long-term training loads, and other factors to measure your fitness progress beyond just VO2max.
Robust design
The rugged, athletic design features a bright, scratch-resistant 1.2-inch sapphire AMOLED display, responsive touchscreen, traditional buttons, and a 42mm fibre-reinforced polymer case with a steel or titanium bezel and back cover. The watch has been tested to US military standards for heat, shock, and water resistance.
Knowledge is power
Your health and exercise data should be easy to interpret and provide actionable insights. Start each day with a customizable morning report and see a daily summary of health and wellness information. Use the training readiness feature, which takes into account various health metrics to maximize your training efficiency and recovery to prevent burnout.

The Epix Pro (Gen 2) lasts 13 days on a single charge - great! The colourful OLED display and the many sports are also good. The precise heart rate measurement and data protection of the app are also impressive. Points are deducted for the sometimes sluggish display and the small selection of apps.
What is the difference between a €1,000 Garmin Epix and a good mid-range smartwatch like the Amazfit T-Rex 2 for around €200? Sure, better material quality.
