Product details

Chromecast Ultra streams not only with a picture quality of up to 4K Ultra HD and HDR over Wi-Fi, but also impresses with reliable performance and speed for smooth playback. Simply plug the streaming media player into your TV's HDMI port, and you're ready to go. You can stream thousands of Cast-optimized apps directly from your iPhone, iPad, Android device, or laptop.

Your smartphone becomes the remote control. Choose what you want to watch through apps on your smartphone: YouTube videos, movies, series, photos. Just tap the Cast icon to see your favorite entertainment in up to 4K on the big screen. Chromecast Ultra always streams content in good picture quality. It's so easy to control the TV from anywhere in your home using your smartphone. While streaming, you can browse the internet, start a Google search, or use your smartphone for other tasks. This way, neither the playback on the TV is interrupted nor is the battery drained by streaming.

Chromecast Ultra offers sharper images, more intense colors, and even faster loading times when streaming 4K content to a 4K TV. However, whether you have a 4K or HDTV device, Chromecast Ultra automatically optimizes the content, ensuring playback is always in good picture quality that your TV can deliver.

Thanks to the high processing power of Chromecast Ultra, your series are played back quickly and reliably. And if your Wi-Fi connection isn't great, Chromecast Ultra comes with a built-in Ethernet adapter, allowing you to stream seamlessly via a wired connection.

Amazon does not support DFS in the 5 GHz WLAN in either of its two players and only outputs the UHD videos streamed on the Fire TV 4K at a maximum of 30 frames per second. Most Amazon customers will probably come to terms with this, because for online customers the 69-euro annual subscription for Prima including the online video store is an extremely attractive overall package...

Amazon only outputs UHD videos streamed on the Fire TV 4K with a maximum of 30 frames per second. Those who value 60 Hz and have a corresponding 4K TV with HDCP 2.2 are better served with the Chromecast Ultra. On the other hand, Amazon offers an extremely attractive overall package with Prima for 69 euros per year.

Google is charging a hefty 80 euros for the improved Chromecast version called ?Ultra? the normal Chromecast, which is still sold, costs half as much. The most obvious difference is the 4K and HDR support. The principle remains the same: the Google Puck goes into the HDMI port of the TV or AV receiver and is then played back streaming content or local photos or videos via smartphone or tablet...

The Chromecast is technically convincing even in the Ultra HD version. Its dilemma: almost all suitable UHD televisions are smart TVs that can bring videos from Netflix and YouTube onto the screen themselves and in the same quality. At least on the German market, there is therefore hardly any potential for the Chromecast Ultra.
