Like the Echo Dot, the Google Home Mini is no bigger than an ashtray, and the sound is therefore mono and pappy. However, it is certainly suitable as a smart home assistant. However, due to the lack of a cable, it cannot be connected to a stereo system.
Like the larger model, the Google Home Mini speaker has the built-in "Google Assistant" and controls smart home components, answers knowledge questions or plays music on voice command. The voice recognition works reliably and is not disturbed by background noise. The Mini is covered with fabric available in various colours, through which translucent LEDs signal its status...

The hardware is similar, the sound rather lousy in both cases. The platforms behind them make the difference: Amazon is further ahead and offers many more services - for now! Google users are already pleased with the Home Mini's successful integration of Google services.
