The use of two hard disks in the form of a RAID network is widespread and popular thanks to many advantages. But those who want to take advantage of the benefits often lose out.
Not every motherboard is equipped with a RAID controller and laptops generally fall out of the scope of possibilities per se. The ICY BOX IB-RD3621U3 effectively converts two 3.5" SATA hard disks into a high-performance RAID network.

You can choose between JBOD, RAID 0, BIG and RAID 1 modes, either higher speed, data mirroring for greater reliability, detection of HDDs as single drives or detection of both hard drives as one large drive. Especially striping (RAID 0) is fired by the modern USB 3.0 connection - transfer rates of up to 5 GBit per second are possible. Lower operating temperatures, thanks to active cooling in the form of a 6 cm large low-noise fan, are rewarded by the hard disks with longer service life.
