Product details
The secret of the E305 system's outstanding hi-fi capability lies in the latest edition of KEF's signature Uni-Q driver, originally developed for the award-winning Q-Series. This technology has characteristics
of ultra-wide dispersion and sound purity, giving the system its exceptionally natural sound quality.
The tweeter in the middle of the midrange cone is vented to prevent excessive pressure building up behind the dome, which would lead to distortion. As a result, the reproduction remains extremely detailed even in the critical vocal range and transports every nuance of the original recording. With KEF's Tangerine Waveguide, the sound spreads evenly, increasing both dispersion and sensitivity of the tweeter for more natural performance in the listening area.
The E305 system is designed to deliver exceptional bass performance, with the subwoofer seamlessly integrated into the rest of the system, producing sound like five complete speakers. The frequency response and phase of the subwoofer and satellites are precisely matched to each other, so the transition is so smooth that you can't even hear where the satellites stop and the subwoofer begins.
With a large and powerful drive coupled to a 200 mm long-stroke cone, the bass response remains clear and infallibly accurate even at high volumes. Based on a Linkwitz filter to minimise group delay that would otherwise distort the bass, the built-in preamplifier guarantees a noticeably cleaner and more accurate bass response.
An E-2 subwoofer with a closed cabinet delivers a nimble and improved bass response without exaggeration - fast, expressive and well defined. As with the satellites, the cabinet uses the damping techniques of the LS50 to avoid unwanted resonance and radiation, ensuring tight, clean and perfectly controlled bass.

No rating
Very good83/100
- tonal sehr neutral
