Mechanical keyboards with the clearly defined stroke of their keys and their rich 'click' or even 'clack' are the ultimate for many gamers.
In addition, the Cherry-MX switches of these keyboards have an enormously long service life (up to 50 million operations) and enable absolute precision input when playing or writing.
A further advantage is the compatibility of the mechanical buttons from Cherry. The shape and size of the key attachments, the so-called keycaps, match the MX Black, MX Red, MX Blue or MX Brown series, so that different keyboards can be modified with the same keycaps.
Caseking took this circumstance as an opportunity to offer a special collection of keycaps with which the enthusiastic user can highly individualize his console. These are silver caps made of an electroplated zinc alloy, with the inscriptions lasered into the surface protected by UV lacquer.
This offer includes alternative, completely unlabeled keys for the inner keypad (including letters) for the US layout, i.e. 34 keycaps are supplied. Replacing the caps is quite easy, by first carefully levering out an old cap with an appropriate tool (included with many keyboards) or a ballpoint pen or screwdriver and then pressing the new one firmly onto the switch.
Please note that the metal keycaps of King Mod are heavier than the original plastic ones (depending on the position between 4.82 g and 5.5 g weight per cap). This makes the stylishly modded human-computer interface on the one hand a little louder while typing. On the other hand, the actuating force is slightly reduced due to the higher weight.
