Ein dünnes Gehäuse mit einem rekordverdächtigen Objektiv macht noch lange keine gute Kamera aus, sondern sorgt nur für gute Vermarktbarkeit: Dies wird beim Test der Kodak Easyshare M590 deutlich. Sowohl mit ihrer umständlichen Bedienung, aber vor allem mit ihrer unterdurchschnittlichen Bildqualität hinterlässt die Kamera einen schlechten Eindruck.

… Ähnlich wie bei der Casio Exilim zeigen auch die Fotos der M590 bereits bei ISO 100 deutliche Kompressionsartefakte. Fotos wirken über den gesamten Empfindlichkeitsbereich matt und verlieren ab ISO 200 zu viel an Detailzeichnung.

Kodaks M590 ist klein, flach und schick und wiegt nur 129 Gramm. Die Qualität ihrer Tageslichtaufnahmen war allerdings vergleichsweise bescheiden: Die Fotos waren zu dunkel, unscharf und wiesen grobflächiges Farbrauschen auf. Für die starken Randunschärfen gab's eine Abwertung. HD-Videos (1280 x 720 Bildpunkte) nahm sie in ausreichender Qualität auf. Die Bedienung ist recht einfach ...
