Special image effects, such as those achieved by holding a crystal in front of the lens, are often used for special and demanding shots. However, this technique has the disadvantage that an image cannot be repeated with e.g. a different aperture, since the identical position of the object in front of the lens is never 100% reproducible. This is now changing with Lensbaby's OMNI Creative System.

It offers control and repeatability when photographing through crystals and other objects developed by Lensbaby. Impressive and convincing image effects can be achieved, which can also be reproduced with other camera settings, since the objects are attached in front of the lens. This unusual professional system is designed to allow photographers to continue using their existing equipment.

The creative OMNI filter system uses a relatively light metal ring which is screwed onto the filter thread of the lens. The system includes three effect rods that can be magnetically attached to the filter ring for quick and easy positioning anywhere on the front of the lens.
