With a weight reduction of 48% compared to its predecessor, the OLED65C2 is the lightest 65-inch TV on the market. Thanks to the latest OLED EVO panel, the OLED C2 series convinces with the usual perfect black levels, but with richer colours and brighter picture than conventional OLED TVs. With HDMI 2.1 features such as G-Sync, VRR, low input lag and Google Stadia / GeForce NOW app support, the C2 is also recommended for long gaming sessions.
The LG C2 uses OLED (EVO) screen technology, which is known for its perfect black levels. A conventional LCD TV first generates an image, which is then illuminated by an LED light source. OLED TVs do things differently. Their light-emitting diodes, also called pixels, not only produce the picture, but also light up by themselves. This makes black levels possible that have never been seen before. In an LCD television, a pixel that is supposed to represent black tries to block out the LED light. This is only partially successful, which is why a "grey haze" is created. OLED pixels, on the other hand, simply cut themselves off like a light switch. This creates "real black". And that in turn is important for the display of high-contrast images. The C2 series now uses the latest OLED display generation - called OLED-EVO. Compared to conventional OLED TVs, this new display offers not only durability, but also a 20% brighter picture and richer colours, because it can cover the colour space better.
In terms of design, the C2 has a frame that is only 6 mm thick and thus looks almost frameless when viewed from the front. In combination with the central aluminium stand, the LG OLED C2 TV cuts a fine figure in any living room.
