Die Installation und Konfiguration des Routers gestaltet sich sehr einfach und so ist der Linksys derzeit mit seiner WLAN ac Technik einer der schnellsten Verbindungen im Funknetz. Allerdings ist die Reichweite eher mäßig, sodass hier ein großer Kritikpunkt aufkam.

Der Linksys EA6500 zeigt im Test in allen Netzen eine prima Datenübertragungs-Leistung. Egal ob unter optimalen Bedingungen oder auf Distanz – der Datendurchsatz stimmt. Nur der Stromverbrauch ist insgesamt höher als bei fast allen Konkurrenten.

Der Router lässt sich auf Wunsch per App steuern und hat ein solides Arbeitstempo auf kurzer Distanz. Leider nimmt diese aber mit steigender Entfernung ab, sodass man hier mehr erwarten könnte. Installation und Konfiguration sind wiederum leicht zu bewerkstelligen, da das Menü schön übersichtlich ist.
Bei der Bedienung und Erstinstallation gab es im Test keinerlei Probleme und auch die Benutzeroberfläche ist einfach und übersichtlich. Beim WLAN Tempo ist der Cisco weit vorne da er bereits WLAN ac unterstützt und somit zukunftssicher ist.
