- More balanced sound only after adjustment
- Somewhat short microphone
We have already found out that you can get good over-ear headphones for under 100 euros. But a headset like the Xbox Wireless Headset is a different story. After all, the sound and microphone quality have to be right. But one thing at a time. Because with its 40-millimetre neodymium driver and a frequency range of 15 to 28,000 Hz, the Xbox Wireless Headset promises to deliver good sound, at least on paper.
- Great sound
- long battery life
- convenient
- A lot of background noise at the mic
- Bluetooth only
Microsoft's Xbox Wireless headset offered the best sound in the test, but fell short in spatial imaging. Although there is no additional cable for the connection, the battery lasts a very long time. Good: There is no echo from the headphones to the microphone, even when listening loudly.
Two winners, no losers? Despite many differences, both headsets are on an equal footing: Sony wins the sound test. Microsoft, on the other hand, wins in the other categories such as microphone quality and wearing comfort. For PC gamers, however, there are better alternatives for 100 euros, such as the Logitech G533...

It is good that Microsoft is now also offering a headset - especially for the Xbox and in view of the Sony competition. For a first attempt, the Xbox Wireless Headset is also quite successful, even if there are still some potential points of improvement, even considering the rather low price range...
- Easy-to-use app with good setting options (PC and Xbox)
- 5-band equaliser
- good wearing comfort
- Solid workmanship
- pleasant service
- Good gaming sound overall
