The XS505M and XS508M feature copper Ethernet 5-speed ports that support Fast Ethernet, 1-Gigabit, 2.5-Gigabit, 5-Gigabit, or 10-Gigabit connectivity, as well as an SFP+ fiber port with 1-Gigabit or 10-Gigabit connectivity. Each port automatically detects the speed required by the connected device and provides it accordingly. Unlike typical 10-Gigabit switches that offer only 1-Gigabit connectivity for devices needing less than 10 Gigabits, the XS505M and XS508M can deliver the exact required speed without any downgrade. Additionally, the new NETGEAR 5-speed switch ports can be connected using standard CAT5e network cables, eliminating the need for an upgrade to CAT6 cabling. This means lower costs and less effort.
