The Nokia G42 is an affordable 5G smartphone that users can easily repair themselves. But the mobile is also a good performer, looks great in purple and offers a decent camera system - as long as you use it in good light. At a reasonable price, the Nokia G42's mid-range performance makes it a tempting buy. However, questions remain about its longevity and actual service life.
Making phone calls, sending messages, surfing the internet - for most people, everyday life without a smartphone is almost unthinkable. This makes it all the more important to be able to rely on the devices. Which model is the test winner? Which has the best mobile camera or the most powerful battery?...
- Long battery life
- Solid equipment
- Useful display
- Long battery charging time
- Mediocre camera
- No full water protection
- Repairable
- Solid performance
- Pure Android version
- Poor display brightness
- Update guarantee could be much longer
The main argument in favour of buying a Nokia G42 5G is definitely the fact that you can repair it yourself with a little skill. However, considering the purchase price of around 220 euros, you shouldn't expect miracles from the built-in technology. However, we would have liked a longer update period for the software.

- pure Android
- Update promise
- Relatively easy to repair
- reliable fingerprint sensor
- No PWM
- Clear blue cast in the display
