Pentax KP Body
24.32 Mpx, APS-C / DXProduct details
Housing design in traditional mirror reflex optics:
Already the shape with the prism viewfinder reminds of a traditional SLR camera, while the small dimensions rather suggest a camera without mirror and prism. Underneath is a completely newly developed inner life.
The operation is tidy and distributed on few elements. Photographers have several possibilities to design it according to their own preferences.
High-sensitivity recording sensor for high-resolution images:
Independence and flexibility are important points to implement your own visual language. A state-of-the-art recording sensor pushes the boundaries.
Anti-shake protection through five-axis shake reduction:
The PENTAX KP features the SR II (Shake Reduction II), whose five-axis mechanism provides effective compensation for camera shake. You benefit from an exposure reliability of up to five light values.
High-resolution image sensor with a super high sensitivity of ISO 819200:
The light sensitivity at an unprecedented level expands the photographic possibilities and makes photography a bit more independent and flexible.
The PENTAX KP couples a latest-generation CMOS image sensor with a PRIME IV processor and an accelerator unit to extend the upper limit of the sensitivity range and enable an unprecedented peak sensitivity of ISO 819200. The camera thus delivers high-resolution images, with fine gradation adjustment and true-to-life reproduction of texture and image depth.
APS-C CMOS sensor with an effective resolution of 24.32 megapixels and low pass filter simulation for perfect images:
The PENTAX KP has a CMOS image sensor of the latest generation with a resolution of approx. 24.32 effective megapixels. An AA (Anti-Aliasing) filter has been omitted from the sensor design to optimise the image sensor's imaging performance.
The result is sharp and finely detailed images with a plastic and realistic depth effect. By processing image data with 14 bit, images are created in a true-to-life colour scheme, and with the DNG or PEF RAW format in a maximum quality.
"Pixel Shift Resolution" System - State-of-the-art technology to optimize imaging performance:
With conventional sensor technology, not all RGB color information is captured due to the design and must be interpolated after the image is captured. With "Pixel Shift Resolution", Ricoh Imaging has developed a technology in which four images are exposed in series. The sensor is shifted one pixel up, down, left and right. In this way, each pixel contains all the color information. The camera calculates a single image from this, which is saved as a JPEG or RAW file. This technique makes all 24.32 megapixels image effective, resulting in a significantly higher sharpness and color reproduction as well as less image noise.
For optimal use, we recommend using a tripod - the image stabilisation does not work in this function. Even pictures of moving subjects are not possible with this technique. However, the camera detects movements in the image, removes the affected area from the calculation and uses only a single exposure for this purpose. With RAW development, the image can even be selected for this purpose.

- Viele Extras
- Integrierter Bildstabilisator
- Gute Bildqualität
- Robustes Magnesiumgehäuse
- Austauschbare Griffwölbung
- Kurze Serienaufnahme
