Product details
The Philips Fidelio B8 is a 5.1.2 multi-channel soundbar featuring a total of 18 speakers, consisting of 10 highly sensitive racetrack drivers and 8 soft dome tweeters, all designed to deliver sound in a sleek format. In addition to the standard 5.1 setup, the package includes two additional patented upward-firing speakers, each comprising 2 racetrack drivers and 3 tweeters.
These speakers are angled based on engineering calculations to direct sound towards the ceiling, thereby transforming height dimensions into stunning audio. Thanks to Dolby Atmos and Philips' proprietary Ambisound technology, the B8 offers an unparalleled 3D sound experience.
While most soundbar systems have downgraded the center channel to a 2.1 channel, resulting in less clear sound quality, the Philips Fidelio B8 is equipped with two dedicated drivers for the center channel. Each has its own amplifier and produces a uniquely processed audio signal, ensuring enhanced voice clarity whether you are watching movies, TV shows, or the news.

Good77/100
Between classic and modern. Modern with Dolby Atmos. However, the spatial sound effect upwards is limited. No extension with satellite speakers possible. Sounds pleasant, but bass tends to boom. Film dialogue well intelligible. Classic: without WLAN, no multi-room.
- Locating
- Very slim design
- Voice reproduction
- HDMI 1.4 only (no HDCP2.2)
- No Internet connection possible
Philips gets a lot of two- and three-dimensional sound out of a slim soundbar with subwoofer. Stereo content also benefits from the precise reproduction. It is a pity, however, that the HDMI sockets only understand version 1.4 and no internet connection is possible.
- Flat and nobly held
- Subwoofer connected wirelessly
- Successful sound tuning
- Important standards are missing
When someone talks about an 18-speaker surround system, most people would immediately think of a home theatre wallpapered with speakers. But that description fits the first Dolby Atmos soundbar from to Philips' first Dolby Atmos soundbar. Even if you don't see it in the slim housing, the manufacturer accommodates 18 drivers in the front, the side panels and on the top of the sound bar...
