I have flashed hundred of MoBo's and never had an issue, you should not be scared of doing it - just read the instructions and take your time.

Hi, I only run my PC with the 24 pin (for the motherboard) and 8 pin (for the CPU). So it should work without a new power supply. Or am I misunderstanding the question? Otherwise, the power is mostly dependent on the GPU, so 650 or 1000W may fit better. Greetings
