Yes, that's normal, the enclosures are designed in such a way that they dissipate the heat generated inside via the enclosure itself, because there are no active fans installed in such docking solutions.
I'm pretty sure it should work, but I can't guarantee it completely. I've certainly tested it on the Dell XPS, the Lenovo X1 and also on Samsung S-series smartphones, and it works everywhere, as well as on MacBooks.
Did I understand that correctly? You want to connect the Doc to the USB-C port of the Xbox and use it to charge your mobile phone and connect your controllers? If so, that should be possible.
Yes this product is only 60W and does not work properly with a Macbook Pro 16`, I am also disapointed

I myself use it without a power supply. One should inform oneself more before buying! (these questions seem somehow pointless to me)

Seems to be normal, at least mine (there are several in use) also feel hot. Felt, because our hands already feel 37 degrees as very warm and somewhere above 45 degrees as hot.

I suspect that would not work with this extension cable. Generally, Thunderbolt cables have active components in the connector. But for an extension, a cable like Sir_Cirion mentions is probably also sufficient. Addition: the unpleasant whistling gets louder when the laptop is running under battery.
Connecting screens only works with VGA and HDMI, the USB-C port on the dock is used for charging the notebook.
