Can anyone say anything about the battery? The main applications are surfing the net, reading pdfs and watching Netflix. Size is important to me. iPad is too expensive for me. Or does anyone have a good tip for another product?

a good choice away from Samsung :p but to your question yes the device is equipped with GPS, hotspot are never bound to the mobile phone. a hotspot from an Apple mobile would also work.

They probably use two different supplyers which have different conditions and mark ups. This is sadly a very common problem here at digitec and galaxus and causes a lot of confusion and honestly some BS Pricing politics. I bought mine for 376.- and its perfectly fine.
