Hello. I don't know but I think so. You can easily find out by looking at the Nikon D5500 specs on the internet. For my part I have the Sony Cyber-shot DSC RX 10 Mark IV which is for me the best versatile camera in the world at an affordable price. And the card works very well with my Sony.

It's an SDXC UHS-1 card, it's certainly compatible, I have several different Sony cameras and it's compatible with all of them. Meanwhile, there are newer and faster SDXC cards of the type UHS-2. They are more expensive and faster but not compatible with the older cameras. The card in question supports U3. It is fast enough to store 4k videos, according to the manual for the Sony A6400. You'll probably do well with this card. SanDisk cards are very reliable, I've never had one fail! Good luck with it!
