For portraits and lowlight performances perfect lens.
It is very sharp from aperture 1.8.
Autofocus is fast. --> Also good for sports.
negative I have not found anything. Höchens as a zoom it would be even more perfect...

So cool, even did not expect such a quality of photos! First was hesitating if I should order special portrait lense as already have another which I used also for these purposes. But really, it's completely different quality! Absolutely professional without too much effort!

    Great value/price lens

I use this lens for most of my portraits and love the fast aperture. Not as good as the f1.2 version of course but significantly cheaper and more compact.

One can only be satisfied with it. :)
The price is pretty low and it has only advantages.
The focus ring is very convenient and the lens is very quiet when autofocusing.
Makes a nice bokeh and has extremely sharp images.

Does as exactly what it is supposed to.
    I can only recommend!

Disappointing lens. Gives really good pictures.

Disappointing lens. Gives really good pictures only from an aperture of 3.5 or 4. The field of sharpness is - as expected - very short at 1.8, beware of sharpness problems in portraits. Depending on the circumstances it is really better to use it in manual mode. I bought it with the optional Hama polarizing filter from digitec. A purchase that I do not recommend. I had an abnormal number of pictures with chromatic aberrations (I think due to the filter), something I never had before with my 2 other lenses, i.e. canon 15-85 (IS USM) and 70-200 (IS L USM).
