An indispensable but expensive piece of plastic
An indispensable accessory for the lens. Should actually be included in the scope of delivery of the lens. Other lens manufacturers supply the lens hood automatically.
As expected, the lens hood fits perfectly and is easy to attach.
What I don't like so much is that when I put the camera on a flat surface with the lens hood on, part of the camera's weight is on the zoom thread of the lens, because the lens hood greatly extends the radius of the front area of the lens. Is that a good thing?Pro

Works and holds ... as expected!
Has now proven itself for over a year in the harsher environment of animal forography. Can withstand the occasional bump from the lens - without dents or falling off.
Does what it should
Does not meet the quality requirements I am used to for a Canon product. I expect a lens hood to be made of metal and not plastic.
