Denon praises here a turntable, which should appeal to the home use and the regular vinyl listener. The fully automatic is successful in the optical processing, discreet and modern, fits into any living room. I've been using the turntable for a year now, alongside other models, on a daily basis. Functionally, it does its job tiptop. However, its mechanical condition is just like that of all plastic bombers that are offered without exception under 1000. Clicking and clacking when using the automatic functions should not frighten anyone, just like the poorly absorbing plastic housing, which transfers every touch to the tone arm. The exchangeable pickup system on the other hand is successful in this price range. Removable headshell (should be about 5mm longer) and interchangeable cartridge make the MM system fortunately upgradable or operable with different cartridges. For the occasional listener just enough is the supplied, cheap Audiotechnica AT2005 pickup system (Denon calls it as its own accessory DSN-85) but neither high quality nor really good, because rather a dull roar.
If you want high quality music - which the player can really deliver - you should order an AT95E or a Nagaoka M-110 and the necessary adjustment tools (adjustment template and tonearm balance). Also a separate phono preamplifier is a MUST for the pleasure listener. The integrated one is okay for occasional listeners who want to connect the player to the AUX In because of the missing phono input and listen with factory equipment, but nothing more. Even though it equalizes quite well, that's about it. With mentioned upgrades it is really great for its price, but priced then also at the 1000.- . However, it is not a "Denon" product as many would probably like to imagine. It is just another consumer product, but it has nothing to do with "premium",

Good design, not too bulky. Good sound with built in pre-amplifier and cartridge. No wow, flutter or other distortion. Good price. You can really upgrade it too. Added the Ortofon 2M Black and Lehmannaudio Black Cube Statement pre-amp linked by the Oehlbach NF14 master set (RCA). Tracks beautifully at 1.5g, although you need to set down using the lever. Fantastic sound. Detail you never imagined hidden in the grooves.

I am massively disappointed by Denon. The record player looks chick at first glance but it is cheap plastic. When pressing the buttons, a 60s jukbox comes to mind. Real clacking. The finish is far from piano lacquer. It is rather an anthracite met. on plastic.
The rubber plate is the absolute crowning glory! The rubber stinks extremely (almost toxic).
The first time I plugged it in, the motor, which should be quiet in a turntable, started to make noises which were amplified and spread through the plastic housing!
I returned the turntable within 24 hours.
Now the disappointment Digitec opposite, although I have packed the turntable to 95% as in the delivery condition, and this had taken only 5 minutes in the enterprise, I had to refund 10% of the purchase price! That does not go at all! With 330.- are 33.-! This was the 2 player within 6 months I bought there and returned defective!
I hope I learn from it.....

Very good product. Quickly delivered. Easy to set up after detailed instructions. Works perfectly.
Solid build, nice classical design, fairly straightforward to put together and nice sound. Not quite a 5* device but I'd definitely recommend it to anybody who is a casual listener and is looking to bring their vinyl back to life. The auto start/stop functionality is a big plus! The more 'serious' listeners would argue that you can get better sound on more expensive / premium devices but for me it's absolutely fine wired up to my B&O speaker. It's great being able to listen to records again :)

Suitable for casual listeners and beginners. Ex works, the sound is just great (if you know nothing better ;)). Streamed via Sonos and it sounds very good. In automatic mode, it makes a little crunching noise when starting and ending, but that's OK. Set up according to instructions is very simple.
