Lovely device to drive HD-650 headphones. Now awaiting a balanced cable.
Planzer delayed delivery by one day, then the dirver got lost and delayed it by another.
The supplied USB cable had an intermittent defect but Digitec IMMEDIATELY provided another from store. That was excellent. I assume I will be able to get a replacement original part from Fiio when they eventually reply to my Customer Service enquiry after the Chinese New Year.
Five stars for Digitec and for the performance of the device itself. (Wonderful pairing for Sennheiser HD650).
Rather less for provided cable and Planzer, which is why I awarded 'Four' overall.

On the whole I like it very much and it really does have a very natural and 'alive' sound, it doesn't have that coldness of many other DAC/amps of the same level (perhaps because we're talking about the new AKM chips which have a slightly velvety timbre compared to the Sabres), I use it with IEMs and low-impedance headphones and it sounds really good, so I could be very satisfied with it... but there are two flaws: 1) the volume knob (as reported by many on YouTube) has a smooth and continuous movement but the actual volume increases in digital steps, not continuously, and the jerks are clearly heard, especially in the central zone where suddenly the volume changes more markedly than in other zones.. a bit annoying to use; 2) even though it officially has 2W of output power (balanced output) in reality when I use Sennheiser HD650 headphones (which have 300 Ohm impedance) I have to use high gain and turn the knob to about 80% of the maximum volume, and I must point out that I am not deaf! I believe that 300 Ohm is the real maximum limit of use, so the HD600 or various mid-high-end magneto-planars for example would not have enough power to sound decent. In any case as an all-in-one it is a very good device that I am glad to have.

Since I already had the K3, and I am actually satisfied, I wanted to buy a better DAC or headphone amplifier. So I decided to buy the K7. When it arrived, it made a good impression. Everything was connected and the surprise was there. Compared to my 30-year-old Technics CD player, I had to turn it up all the way to get the same volume. Then in the sound comparison it seemed a bit restrained, details were somehow suppressed. At first I thought it was the cheap Toslink cable. So I bought a more expensive one. But unfortunately I couldn't hear any significant improvement. First I connected my Lenovo Tab with USB, at first everything worked fine. But after some time, the Tab no longer played the songs when it was connected to the K7. Then I tried it with the Samsung Tab and it works fine. Now I bought a half-priced DAC/headphone amplifier from a Chinese online shop. hmmm, it's worlds. Higher output power, Lenovo Tab works via USB, automatic switching or switching off of the analogue output when the KH is connected, with remote control, even with Bluetooth. I expected more from the K7...

I was a bit hesitant to take it on, because I had the Fiio K 3 and I was very happy with it. But this is already several notches higher!
The sound quality is crystal clear, the bass is more than respectable and the midrange and bass are perfect. Powerful, clean sound. I really don't regret my purchase. It's exactly what I was looking for to connect my speakers to my computer!
It's worth downloading the Dac update from the site.

I operate the DAC via smartphone with Tidal master on Fiio FD3 pro headphones. I also needed the Fiio OTG usb B to usb C connection cable for the connection. It's amazing how much better the sound is compared to the compressed sounding galaxy buds 2 pro, for example.
