The software is absolute rubbish + printer already defective
The software is absolute rubbish. Especially during setup. Furthermore, the printer regularly loses the Wi-Fi connection. HP has completely overloaded the app and tries to push its HP+ service everywhere. Since it can print, it gets a star for printing. Shortly after installation, I realised that it had several defects. Firstly, it scans crookedly and secondly, the scan feeder doesn't work properly.

Avoid this model, and even this brand
I bought it at the beginning of 2023, and I'm reluctant to throw it out of the window. It's just impossible to work with this device. You don't have access to a standard control panel. You first have to register yourself and the printer on HP Smart. After that, it's impossible to check the status of consumables without having about 4x the proposal to switch to a subscription system.
I've just changed my cartridge and bought a pack on Microspot, but the printer doesn't recognise the cartridge, even though it's the official one. It's just impossible to work with this device.
The scan function is not at all practical and you have to spend an inordinate amount of time before you can scan a page. You then have to save file by file, and it's impossible to pre-save a folder where the files will end up. In short, I'm very disappointed and can't do anything with this tool.Pro

The HP software is poor
I need the printer mainly for scanning multiple documents and occasionally for printing. I was very happy with my old Officejet 4630 (from 2014). The software was easy to use and each scanned page was directly saved as a PDF with text recognition. It just worked. I thought to myself, surely in 2022 the software must still be at least as good. Unfortunately, text recognition is now much more tedious with much more manual work. The new HP Smart is just bad. Sometimes, for some inexplicable reason, no documents can be printed or scanned. The wifi connection is up, but nothing happens. The router is in the same room. Then a restart of the printer helps and at some point it might work again. I wouldn't buy an HP printer again, but take a look at what the competition has to offer.

Please read advantages and disadvantages. The worst purchase I have made in years for electronics. For this price, pay a little more and buy a laser printer, this one is howlingly bad.

Grotten bad
While this printer was delivered in a jiffy, as is usual at digitec when the item is "in stock" (the next day, with Saturday delivery!). The problem is definitely with the device and with HP: The special installation ink cartridges supplied with the printer were not recognised by the printer! The original ink cartridges sent by HP customer service after what felt like an eternity compared to the digitec delivery time produced the same result: "No or defective ink cartridge(s)". Conclusion: Never again buy an HP device with the small "e" in the model name, because they are so preconfigured that the user has to take out a subscription for the subsequent delivery of ink cartridges! The back-and-forth telephone calls with digitec were also disappointing: the cancellation of the invoice did not work straight away, the device had to be returned at my own expense (additional difficulty: how do you print out the return label if the printer does not work?) and after a month I received a new printer (the same model) as a replacement, which was immediately returned (this time unopened). In the meantime, I bought a printer elsewhere.
