Seed phrase can be extracted since update
Since the last firmware update, the seed phrase can be extracted from the device (keyword "Ledger Recover"). This breaks the whole concept of hardware wallets, which main goal should be to protect exactly this.
Since Ledger makes everything closed source and therefore cannot be verified by independent experts, we have to take Ledger's word for it. They have always claimed so far that this is not possible and have even explicitly written that this is NOT possible even with a firmware update (see e.g. official tweet from @Ledger on 15.11.22).
Then on 17.5.23 @Ledger_Support wrote that this has always been possible. And right after we found out that they lied to us for years their solution is practically "trust us bro".Contra
