What you need
I upgraded my aunt from Office 2010 to Office 2021...
I think it's great that you can still buy Office - and at a very fair price!
Aaaaber:
Activation is very tedious: you can't just enter the product code and press "Ok" like you used to. No, you have to set up a dumb Microsoft account, activate the serial number, download the Office, install it, open Word, log in again.... and only then you can use the thing. It's way too complicated for normal users. Even as a studied computer scientist you have to search around...
If you use Word normally, it saves the documents in the OneDrive cloud by default. Who wants to store his documents in this stupid Microsoft Cloud? No one can find them there anymore. I had to disable the cloud stuff somewhere in a sub-setting so that my aunt could find her documents again.
Microsoft, please make an offer for people who don't like the cloud stuff. No stupid Microsoft accounts. No stupid cloud. Just good old Word, Excel and PowerPoint that regular people can install.Pro
