Netgear M6 Nighthawk Mobile Router
The product is massively overpriced and not worth the price.

To begin with, yes it is heavily, HEAVILY, overpriced. The general problem is that there are no viable options in this category - you either pick a 4G router, a cheap device of reportedly questionable performance and/or a Chinese surveillance platform. Or you pick this. Netgear certainly knows this and it is the exact reason why they are ripping us clean.
The performance of the network it provides is excellent, both Wifi and 5G. Roaming on 5G networks works flawlessly as well - I took it to many places in Europe and it was always fine and on 5G. On the latest firmware, there also seems to be an option to manually choose your network, which is a huge plus if it works. However, I haven't had the need to test this yet. The biggest issue is the overheating, which can occur during summer while something is being downloaded. When overheating, throttling will take place and in the worst case all traffic is temporarily stopped. Keeping it in back bag can be slightly problematic because of this, but it still works ok when I do.
Battery life is slightly disappointing. I'm also slightly concerned about the long-term battery health as there seems to be no way of keeping the battery charge at some sustained level rather than always fully charging it if you're at home. It is possible however to remove the battery while not on the move. It takes forever to reboot though, so most of the time I just keep the battery inside. The router always insists on additional reboot when the battery is removed, not only once for the removal but subsequently to change the "power mode".
As reported, the operating system is laggy, which can be felt when operating the touchscreen. The user interface on the screen is ok, not the prettiest ever but does the job. The screen itself is very poor - in fact it is so poor that in especially in dark the two eyes are going to see different colors because of the abysmal viewing angles of this screen. It's more convenient to use the web interface for configuration.
The web admin interface is looks pleasant, and the available range of options should be sufficient for most users. At the time of writing this review there was a recent firmware update, so at least for now they seem to be actively supporting this device. Most routers are abandoned by the manufacturer as soon as the product is launched. The potential for better security is another reason to get this device as opposed to some cheaper ones.

I would have expected more for the price compared to the previous models. Some functions were definitely worse (e.g. the connection setup time) or the battery life.
